For his Autumn Winter 2018 collection, Raf Simons finds inspiration in the German film Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, Christiane F, a disturbing story of a troubled, aimless 14-year-old girl that falls into the drug scene in Berlin. “Christiane F. remains a cautionary tale, one that unashamedly and unapologetically depicts the realities of drug use and addiction.” The movie was soundtracked by the music of David Bowie who even appeared in the film. In the collection, Simons' gave more than a nod to the charm and fascination of this hedonistic world. This editorial combines a hint of David Bowie classic clown blanc costumery, amidst an eerie industrial backdrop and presents the pessimistic melancholy portrayed in the original film and Simons' collection. That being said elements fundamental to the brand remain intact, with the use of vibrant colours, sharp graphics and unique outerwear redefining statements about individuality and masculinity.
